Classic Lattice-Top Apple Pie

Delicious anytime, a classic dessert with LOTS of nutrients.

Ingredients:
6-8 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite)
3/4 cup cane sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon- we carry the best
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp Pastry Flour – In the Shop!

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin pieces. Toss them in a large bowl with cane sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon(Royal Cinnamon is the best – we have in the shop!, nutmeg, and REAL flour.(Flour to the People)
Roll out your bottom crust (recipe below) and place it in your pie pan. Fill with the apple mixture.
Lattice top fun! Roll out your top crust, cut into strips, and weave them over the filling for that classic lattice look.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Cool and enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream Homestead that is find it in our freezer!
